Ben Affleck Is No Longer Directing ‘The Batman’

Star Ben Affleck and Warner Bros. have decided to mutually remove Affleck as director for "The Batman" film, according to Variety.

Many fans that liked Affleck in "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" were excited to see the guy playing the Caped Crusader also direct the film.

Affleck said in a statement: "There are certain characters who hold a special placei n the hearts of millions. Performing this role demands focus, passion, and the very best performance I can give." He goes on to state that he's still in the film, but with the massive scope of the entire thing, they are looking for someone else to direct that he can collaborate with while focusing more on the role of playing Batman (and Bruce Wayne).

Early speculation for directors to replace Affleck are "John Wick" directors, David Letich and Chad Stahelski, and Matt Reeves (known for "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes").

The next appearance for Affleck as Batman will be in "Justice League," which is directed by Zack Snyder and set to release on November 17, 2017.
