They were previously leaked, but the Toronto Raptors have officially unveiled their City Edition (“OVO Edition”, in this case) uniforms.
This that new Toronto.
Presenting our very own OVO Edition Jersey.
— Toronto Raptors (@Raptors) January 12, 2018
As stated in the fourth image—and like all the other City Edition uniforms—this represents the city of Toronto. The chevron represents the city’s six boroughs; the “NORTH” on the jersey represents the team being the only one north of the border; and the colorway (or colourway for the Canadians) is unsurprisingly inspired by Toronto superstar Drake’s OVO.
When the Raptors where the uniforms, they will also have a change in the court.
And there will be a free basketball giveaway for their January 26th game against the Utah Jazz.
The influence of Drake on the uniforms appears evident, and deservedly so. Toronto has always been a spectacular city, but Drake has taken the entire area to new heights and proudly wears Canadian pride on his sleeve. It seems fitting that the professional basketball team he’s a global ambassador for returns the favor by wearing his brand on theirs.
