Red Dead Redemption 2 would already be out if not for a couple delays, but it looks like the wait will be worth it. Rockstar Games just dropped its first trailer of the year, which you can see for yourself.
Red Dead Redemption 2
An epic tale of life in America at the dawn of the modern age.
Coming October 26, 2018 to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems.https://t.co/hakhYU4Ivz pic.twitter.com/WJc9HWkLyW— Rockstar Games (@RockstarGames) May 2, 2018
The hype for this game is clearly massive, as in just ten minutes, over 5,000 people liked the trailer on Twitter alone. We were already given a couple trailers last year (which can be found on the Rockstar Games website), but this new one was the longest at over two minutes, and it confirms the time period—1899, making it a definite prequel to Red Dead Redemption.
However, what we aren’t certain about is how much of a connection there will be between the games. While unconfirmed, it looks like John Marston might have made an appearance at the 1:41 mark in the newest trailer, as there is a character held at gunpoint that looks to have the same scars on his face that Marston had in the original Red Dead. If so, perhaps Rockstar is allowing gamers to play as a few different characters, similar to ‘GTA V’.
I think I speak for everyone when I say that it would be awesome to play as Marston once again, except this time on the other side of the law as a bad guy. Perhaps we will get some clarity in the coming months, but again, the wait will be worth it.
Red Dead Redemption 2 releases on October 26, 2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
